Spending his youth growing up and becoming fascinated with technology, Balder slowly began to edge his way into the videogame world with the progression of the electronics industry. Eventually working in the industry itself under a large company, he lived his life fruitfully, and wound up getting married, having children and retiring with a blossoming pension at the age of 58. As the years continued he still found himself fascinated with the new technology and continued to play the varying new games that would hit the shelves. As his children grew older they had children of their own, and two of his grandchildren; Clara and Felix, inherited their grandfathers love of these games.

As the twin siblings grew up, Balder introduced them to games he had played as a child, even a few of the projects he had worked on. Eventually in their early teens, the two began to introduce him to new games. One game that caught their eye was Sword Art Online. The new VRMMORPG that had just been displayed. Noticing his grandchildren’s excitement, he set some money aside, and bought enough copies early on so that the three of them could play together. Sadly their fun didn’t last, as shortly after the launch date, both Clara and Felix fell victim to the death game.

In a silent rage, Balder vowed to himself that he would not allow this vile act to go unpunished, and to do all in his power to be sure that none would have to face the same sorrowful pain he had that day.
